MyMedicare: an initiative to have a regular GP

If you wish to stay as a valued patient at The Belmore Surgery and have you attended at least twice in the last 2 yrs you can register with us under MyMedicare. Just ask for a form at the front desk to sign up.

Whilst we are not a bulk-billing practice there are some special instances e.g. nursing, care plans, aged care facility visits and telephone consults where MyMedicare permits better access to these services

 As part of your MyMedicare registration, your chosen practice and GP will appear on your My Health Record. This will make sure all health professionals you see – for example, at a public hospital – will know who to talk to about your regular care. 

You can change your MyMedicare registration immediately by changing to a new doctors surgery and advising them you wish to continue ALL of your care there.  You can withdraw from being registered with our practice at any time.

 Parents/guardians and children can be registered at the same practice if one of them is eligible and registered. A parent/guardian must register a child under 14 years and provide consent on their behalf. Young people aged 14 to 17 years can register and provide consent without a parent/guardian. 

This is where it becomes very important to register under MyMedicare so all parties know who to call for your medical needs.
